Celebrating the Sector 2025 - our first event and launching the coalition!
The Ontario Non-profit Network (ONN) releases their data every Fall on the State of the Sector of Nonprofits in the province. In 2024, a State of the Sector event was held in Halton by Community Development Halton. This event launched the group that eventually formalized and emerged as Impact Halton Coalition.

In 2025, we brought people together to Celebrate the Sector, where we shared important new data, provided information about Impact Halton Coalition, and heard stories of impact, and had conversations aimed at strengthening and communicating our impact, together.

Formalization of the group
In an effort to formalize the work of the coalition, members decided to write a Terms of Reference. A volunteer steering committee called the Leadership team was put together with interest from leaders in different areas of the nonprofit field. The Terms of Reference was formally agreed upon by the Leadership team.
Meeting with elected officials
Coalition efforts started by communicating with local elected officials regarding the concerns of Halton nonprofits. This includes Members of Parliament & Members of Provincial Parliament. Meetings were held where coalition members and politicians discussed the need for stable funding, pressure points, and success stories in the nonprofit sector.
