Healthy Kids Community Challenge (HKCC) is an Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care initiative with the goal of supporting the well-being of our children. The purpose of this initiative was to work together through collaboration to build healthy kids in vibrant neighbourhoods with a focus on physical activity and healthy eating for kids to lead healthy, active lives. Burlington was one of 45 communities across Ontario participating in the HKCC, all focused on children aged 0 to 12 years and their families.
The following documents provide a reflection of the first three themes that Community Development Halton was involved in as co-manager, along with the City of Burlington and the many community partners that made this initiative a success.
