One visit a week can bring a lonely Senior a huge sense of worth and happiness. Seniors who are isolated often find their recall of daily details is frosted over. A little social contact can melt that ice and bring warmth to you and your new Senior friend. By becoming a Memory Visiting Volunteer you will tap into your natural caring abilities to provide companionship to adults experiencing memory loss in the early stages of dementia. Many clients are still very social and enjoy doing puzzles, crafts, and going for walks.
This volunteer position is ideal for anyone entering the health field – giving practical, safe, fun experience in supporting individuals with various challenges. No experience required just genuine care for people and open & ongoing communication.
Volunteering with Acclaim Health will also provide much needed support to caregivers. Free training will be provided to make you feel confident and comfortable in this role.
