Emergency Community Support Fund: OPEN FOR APPLICATION

On May 16, 2020, the Prime Minister announced $350 million dollars in funding to the Canadian Red Cross, Community Foundations of Canada, and United Way Centraide Canada.

United Way Halton & Hamilton is pleased to support this important investment by the Federal Government by investing 2.4 million dollars locally. More than $1 million in funding available in Halton for charities supporting COVID-19 response. United Way Halton & Hamilton (UWHH) announced they will provide an additional $1.2 million to support local agencies in Halton Region responding to the impact of COVID-19.

United Way Halton and Hamilton along with the Burlington Foundation, Community Foundation of North Halton, and Oakville Community Foundation, is accepting grant applications to the Emergency Community Support Fund, with $2.4 million in funding available to local charitable agencies. Community organizations serving vulnerable populations during COVID-19 are encouraged to apply for funding to support their work.

The #ECSFund is administered in collaboration with United Way Centraide Canada and The Government of Canada. Funding from the program will support community organizations to ensure rapid relief reaches those that need it most, and that no one is left behind.

May 19 2020 – July 31 2020 Applications to United Way Halton & Hamilton must be sent to: communityinvestment@uwhh.ca. Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis as received and until the money is spent.
