It is a great pleasure for me to share some news today with all Community Development Halton partners, volunteers and followers!

First, it is with very mixed emotions that I announce that Rosemary Ann Coburn, Director of Volunteer Halton, will be retiring from Community Development Halton (CDH) on Friday, June 12th.  She began her career with CDH in 2002 and embraced her role with enthusiasm and passion. Rosemary’s knowledge and best practices encompassing volunteerism is exemplary, and truly embraces the quote from Margaret Mead “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.

Although we will miss Rosemary, we are excited for this next chapter in her life and future direction. She is looking forward to spending time with her family in Ontario and Quebec and participating in many activities in her community. She will be greatly missed, and we wish her the best of health and happiness throughout her continuing journey.

I am delighted and pleased to introduce Anne Lech who will be assuming the role of Director of Volunteer Halton effective June 1st, 2020. This will allow a smooth transition of work within the Volunteer Centre. I have tremendous confidence that you will find Anne both an inspiring and enthusiastic leader as Volunteer Halton continues to develop leadership on issues related to volunteering and civic engagement. I have no doubt that Anne’s interactive skills will be of tremendous value to the future work of CDH and the Volunteer Centre.

Anne can be reached via email at alech@cdhalton.ca or by phone at 905-632-1975, or toll-free at 1-855-395-8807.

Please join me in welcoming Anne to our team.
