Community Development Halton / Volunteer Halton is pleased to welcome members of the Halton Youth Initiative Equity Team and the Halton Youth Voices Council to share how to create a more inclusive and equitable volunteer culture with youth.
The Halton Youth Initiative Equity Team has developed a toolkit, How to Build an Equity Team 101, covering how to build an equity team which dismantles white supremacy culture and engages with individuals, organizations, and communities from a variety of backgrounds and intersections.
In this session, youth leaders will introduce the toolkit and provide examples on ways the information can be used in community. The toolkit is one way to help youth and the community to connect with sustainable and successful actions that will allow everyone in Halton Region to grow and thrive. We all have a role to play to make our programs, services, and volunteer efforts more inclusive and equitable.
