Fairly Equal: From “MeToo” to “Never Again”

Exploring the issue of violence against women in our society, and the challenges presented by the brave women of the #MeToo Movement.

Guest Speaker: Linda Silver Dranoff

Lawyer, writer, feminist, and activist, Linda is a legal trailblazer who has spearheaded law reforms that benefitted women and society. In her presentation, she explores the issue of violence against women in our society, and the challenges presented by the brave women of the #MeToo Movement.

How do we support the movement through the law? Linda recommends improvements in the law, in the legal system and the social supports required to improve the status of women and to halt the violence many suffer.

Linda’s many writings on law have helped the public understand the law of Canada. Her most recent book is Fairly Equal: Lawyering the Feminist Revolution.

Linda has been honoured by the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Governor-General, the Toronto YWCA, the Canadian and Ontario Bar Associations and the Women’s Law Association, among others. She is a member of the Order of Canada.
