Health and Safety: Volunteers in the Workplace

Volunteers are people in your workplace under the Occupational Health and Safety Act and, as their supervisor you have responsibilities.

In this introduction to Workplace Safety & Prevention Services (WSPS) workshop you will learn:
• How to navigate the roadmap to safety
• Coordinator of Volunteers role and responsibilities
• Complimentary WSPS Duty Consultant, news articles and advisory service
• Learn about the Health and Safety system in Ontario
• How WSPS can help you on your health and safety journey

Presenter: Debbie Glenn is a Regional Community Coordinator with Workplace Safety & Prevention Services. Her 20-year experience within the Health and Safety industry includes working with volunteers. Debbie is a former member of the Professional Association of Volunteer Leaders Ontario (PAVRO) Board of Directors. She connects with different communities to share the many simple safety solutions that WSPS has to offer. Debbie enjoys sharing her passion and experience, facilitating certification training and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) Build your Own Health and Safety Program.
