As a leader of volunteers, are you often prevented from expanding and/or improving your programs because of a lack of funding or support from your Board or senior leadership? Do you feel that you and your program just don't have the respect or consideration that the impact you make deserves?
In many cases, simply knowing how to advocate for yourself, the volunteers, and your program can make a massive diference.
As a leader of volunteers, you need to be able to "speak to power". Here's how.
In this interactive workshop, we will cover (and practice!) simple skills for presenting, negotiating, and finalzing proposals that will finally get you "a seat at the table".
You'll learn:
- What you need to do to prepare to speak to the Board;
- Tips for looking strong and confident (event if you don't feel that way);
- What to say (and not to say) during the presentation:
- How to negotiate when there is push back; and
- How to ensure that what was agreed-upon is followed through.
