Become a Member
Developing Community Roots Program
A one-year free membership for new and/or emerging groups*

Whether you need support engaging more volunteers, help with funding applications or fundraising, or access to data to strengthen your work, CDH is here to help. Comprised of the Social Planning Council of Halton and the Volunteer Centre, CDH is an independent network for over 1,000 nonprofit organizations in Halton Region and we work to amplify the voices of our members with governments, funders, and other key stakeholders. Connecting community is what we do.

The Developing Community Roots Membership is designed for groups with an annual operating budget between $0 and $75K that need capacity-building support. This membership, which runs from April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026, is offered at NO COST. It includes full access to CDH membership benefits, along with two passes to any CDH Educates workshops.

annual operating budget of $0 - $75K providing program(s) and/or service(s) to residents of Halton Region and/or the City of Hamilton.
Membership is valid from April 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026.

Community Builder Membership Program
Annual membership for nonprofit and voluntary sector organizations
​
Community Development Halton promotes civic engagement and volunteerism while conducting social research and convening for community development. This work supports capacity building in the nonprofit, government, and community sectors across Halton. Membership with CDH offers organizations access to tools, resources, tailored support, and engagement opportunities for development. By joining Community Development Halton, organizations contribute to the creation of a resilient community sector, collectively striving to enhance the quality of life for all residents in Halton.

Community Builder Memberships are for nonprofit and voluntary sector organizations with an annual operating budget of 75K and higher. Membership purchases are on a rolling calendar basis and are valid for 364 days from date of purchase.
Community Builder Membership
Membership fees include access to the following:

Promotion of volunteer opportunities via social media*.

Invitations to all CDH hosted community presentations and conversations.

Discount on workshops.

Up to three hours of consultation support (annually)*.

VIEWPOINT newsletter subscription.

Promotion of volunteer opportunities via Volunteer Advisor program*.

Invitation to participate in community research surveys and events.

Facilitated opportunities to connect with other nonprofit organizations.

Network weaving support designed to increase opportunities for collaboration*.

Access to all CDH community reports.

Provide, upon request, a set of data related to their mission that assists in elevating their message for the public and case to funders.

Listing on CDH’s website as a Community Builder.

Membership Fee Levels

Membership Fees Increasing April 1, 2025
Effective April 1, 2025, the pricing for our Community Builder Membership will increase. This marks the first membership price adjustment in close to a decade, following a comprehensive review of pricing structures at other volunteer centers and membership organizations across Ontario. The increase will occur gradually over three years as outlined below.
Membership pricing is based on your organization’s annual operating budget, and the new pricing structure is as follows:

Community Investor: For-Profit Entities: $750 annually
Business Community Investor member support strengthens the voice of CDH in the community, increasing your capacity to engage in social policy research, analysis, and advocacy for community members and the organizations who serve them. Business Community Investors maintain CDH as an independent voice for positive change in Halton Region.
Membership fee includes access to the following:

VIEWPOINT newsletter subscription.

Discount on workshops.

Invitations to all CDH hosted community presentations and conversations.
