Volunteer Halton – Your volunteer centre
Volunteer Halton is the volunteer centre for Halton Region. As a pillar program of Community Development Halton (CDH), the volunteer centre has been part of the community for almost 40 years. The act of volunteering is found in all cultures, languages, and religions. Each year, thousands of Halton residents volunteer their time and skills to help make our community a better place. When they volunteer, they help improve the lives of others. And when they volunteer, they also gain a greater sense of belonging to Halton Region and their local community.
The global COVID-19 pandemic highlights the incredible impact volunteers have in all aspects of daily living and the challenges faced by our communities when volunteers are not engaged. Volunteer Halton envisions a Region where volunteerism is accessible, inclusive, and valued, contributing to community well-being and engagement. As such, we support volunteer-engaging organizations by providing education, resources, and support. This includes advocating for dedicated volunteer engagement professionals to develop and deliver meaningful volunteer opportunities to further the involvement and engagement of individuals, companies, and community groups in the life and work of Halton Region.
Located in Burlington, Ontario, and supporting all Halton Region municipalities (Burlington, Halton Hills, Milton, and Oakville), Volunteer Halton is a catalyst for volunteerism, providing leadership and support for volunteer efforts to build the capacity of the community. Volunteer Halton advocates for leaders of volunteers as well as volunteers, through its membership and association with local, provincial, and national organizations.
