This project is a collaborative venture of five social planning organizations across Canada including Burlington, Toronto, Saint John, Edmonton and Vancouver/North Vancouver aimed at enhancing social inclusion in cities and communities across Canada. Through participatory research, and social inclusion as the framework, each participating city came together to form a Civic Panel to provide leadership and direction for building people-friendly cities. This report documents good practises for citizen engagement and provides strategies to support diversity. A national report and individual reports from each participating city have been prepared and are available for the reader.
