Growing Good Governance

This workshop will provide Boards of Directors, whether new to the role or seasoned veterans, with an overview of what makes for an effective Board with equally effective members.

Key learnings:

Participants will come away with an understanding of:

•    The role and responsibilities of an effective Board of Directors 

•    Different models and approaches to governance

•    Building excellence within your organization or group

Facilitator:

Jody Orr has more than 35 years experience working in or consulting to the nonprofit sector. Currently the Coordinator of the Halton Nonprofit Network, she has served on a wide variety of Boards and has been the lead staff person in a number of large and complex nonprofits, including one of Canada’s largest United Ways. Jody has supported a vast number of nonprofits as they meet the challenges of effective governance and has trained countless volunteers in what it means to be an effective member of the Board.
